YoonHaeng Hur

Bio

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago. Before graduate school, I received a BS in Mathematical Sciences and a BA in Economics from Seoul National University.

Research Interests

My research focuses on developing and analyzing statistical inference and optimization methods to tackle challenges arising from decision-making problems, primarily using insights from matching and optimal transport. I am particularly interested in socioeconomic and business applications for which I aim to develop intuitive and efficient algorithms with provable statistical guarantees and optimization properties.
